Hey all. I've asked about this topic a few times now but I've recently expanded my "budget" to $1000 (AUD). I was wondering if anyone could throw together a pcpartpicker (au) list for me that is $1000 or under? Cheers.

P.S I already have a 1400 x 900 monitor, I also need a keyboard but I can sort that out myself. Also Newegg (US) Does free shipping to Australia. (So I guess thats a bonus!)

You've taken your first step into a larger world.

Do you need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and Windows Key?

I didn't provide an OS, monitor, keyboard, or mouse in my cost. It came out to $999, which would probably be more with tax/shipping. My honest opinion though would be to wait until AMD releases their new Zen architechture CPUS, they will be cheaper and offer just as good performance as intel's chips. If you can't wait, and the prices I listed are too much, I would just downgrade the CPU a bit. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/y42cBP

And this world is amazing to me.

I have a monitor already, I have a mouse, I think my brother has a Windows 8 Disc I can use so that should be fine. It's just the keyboard now and a Au pcpartpicker list that's $1000 or under... I need some help with that. I was thinking of a cheap Mech like keyboard. Clicky one. (I love the clicky noise.)

No, the Windows Disk will not be fine. You also need a Windows Installation key. Unless your brother received the disk along with a Windows Retail License Key, you'll need to get another license key to install Windows. They're really cheap on Kinguin, so I'll just leave it out for now.

If your monitor is below 1080p, I would recommend getting a better one.

You need a better monitor than a 1400 x 900p. Or else the resolution won't look fitting.

He has a budget of $1000.

If he doesn't have enough money, then he can get a cheaper build. An $800 build would be beyond fine.

Don't worry. I had a feeling you didn't have a nice monitor, so I included one in your budget. It's a 48-75 Hz 2ms FreeSync monitor, which means it'll provide a much smoother experience than a 60Hz monitor, along with no screen tearing and faster frametimes. My friend has this monitor, and he says the colours are pretty good too (we used to review Anime together, so the colour palette was important).

I also made sure to include a mechanical keyboard, and this one is a great deal. It comes from Cherry themselves, which means outstanding build quality, a classic aesthetic, and good quality-control. It features tactile Cherry MX Brown keyswitches.

It goes $16 over budget, but that's only 1.6% over.

Hmm.

I think a cheaper monitor would be better for him.

A cheaper keyboard would also be better. You don't need to spend that much over some typing.

Other than that, it's a great build.

He/she wants a mechanical keyboard. I simply complied with his/her request.

Also, my decision regarding the monitor was more about value for money. The ViewSonic monitor is only $20 more than the cheapest possible 1080p montior on PCPartPicker, and it's a lot better. Good colour reproductiong for a TN panel, 48-75Hz refresh rate. FreeSync. 2ms response time. 22" screen size. If $20 AUD ($14 USD) ever got me that much more, I'd jump on that in a heartbeat.

You're most welcome. I would recommend waiting for Zen and Vega if at all possible (you won't have to wait very long; they'll be out early this year, and we'll get more details in a few days). Check back regarding the Windows key. Here's where you can get them for cheap-
