1. Budget: $2000~3000 AUD,Location:Australia

2.Aim:Gaming and CAD

3.1440p Ultrawide or Dual 1080p

4. Currently have a Deathadder 3.5G(Left Hand Edition) and Razer Arctosa.However,thinking of upgrading to G900 and K70 rapidfire(not definite esp mouse.Also thinking of getting a M40x and a dedicated mic.already have windows.

5.Upgrading to noticed slow down in performance as well as extremely high temps on the CPU while gaming and in general since running a i5-2400 with HD5770 with 4GB of ram.

What motherboard do you have currently? You might be able to find a NIB 2500k for pretty cheap, toss a nice cooler on it for overclocking, get a new graphics card and more memory and you would have a decent upgrade without too much cost.

The 2500k is losing to Skylake i3s even with a conservative overclock. A 2600k will go a much longer way, and will be vastly superior for CAD.

Derp, yeah 2600k would be better and would probably be similarly cheap.

That is a massively expensive motherboard. Unless they are going for flashy they could probably get similar performance out of a lower class Z170 Asus. 

 

Does CAD use that much memory? I know that gaming sure doesn't unless you're hosting some pretty intense game servers.

my system is in my signature which i use for gaming and CAD i think it was about $2600ish  AUD and it seems to be holding up really well. most of the parts were from MSY and a couple from pc case gear

Yeah, but it isn't the best. Your 6600k isn't going to hold up against a 5820k at all. One and a half times as many cores and three times as many threads. Neither will your GPU. The performance of an R9 390x will be absolutely ravaged by a GTX 1070 in every way. Remember that the former card is slower than the GTX 980, while the latter card is faster than a GTX Titan X (Maxwell).

There are vastly superior alternatives. Consider the build I posted. It's practically within the budget (3% above), and will outperform a 6600k+R9 390x by leaps and bounds.
