Psu question (quick responce please)

I'm redoing the psu wires of my right and I was wondering about the graphics card. 

Okay, so I have the evga 850 p2 and a asus strix 1080.

The 1080 has a 8pin and 6pin port.

 I was wondering if I could use the splitter cable that comes with the psu to power the card, or stick with two 6+2 connectors?

And what I mean by splitter is that it's a 6+2 pin but then another 6 pin comes out of the 6pin of the 6+2.

You can use one cable for the 1080, putting the 6+2 in the 8 pin port and the 6 pin that splits off it in the 6 pin port.
