My PC finally died the final death. I can't get it to boot :(

The plan was to wait until the next generation of Intel CPUs came out so I could upgrade to the latest and greatest for maximum life-span. Here is my current setup: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QD2BFd

I already ordered the PSU because I thought that was the issue with my current setup. Here are my planned upgrades.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($342.98 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($145.60 @ Amazon)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($105.99 @ Amazon)

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (Purchased For $0.00)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB ARMOR OCV1 Video Card  (Purchased For $0.00)
Case: Corsair 500R Black ATX Mid Tower Case  (Purchased For $0.00)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  (Purchased For $0.00)
Monitor: Asus VS239H-P 23.0" 1920x1080 Monitor  (Purchased For $0.00)
Monitor: Asus VS239H-P 23.0" 1920x1080 Monitor  (Purchased For $0.00)
Keyboard: Corsair K70 LUX RGB Wired Gaming Keyboard  (Purchased For $0.00)
Mouse: Logitech G502 Wired Optical Mouse  (Purchased For $0.00)
Speakers: Logitech Z333 40W 2.1ch Speakers  (Purchased For $0.00)
Total: $694.56

Going with that i7 unlocked because my 2600k lasted me for 5 years being steadily OC'd and I will probably keep using it in a media center PC if I can find a replacement MOBO (hopefully that's the issue....)

Anyone see any issues or have any other suggestions/advice?

Since you already have fast DDR3 RAM I see no need to jump on Skylake. Haswell could be a good upgrade, and will last basically as long considering your fast RAM.
 Saves you $150.

I'll do some research and see if theres enough performance boost between the CPUs to warrant the extra $150. Otherwise this looks great, thank you.

Keep in mind your fast memory, it will make the 4790K perform better (a conjecture, since going from 2133 to 3000 on Skylake did amount to a noticeable performance increase in CPU-heavy games like GTA V)

It's looks like there isn't really much of an improvement performance wise between the 6700k and 4790k anyways. Just need to be sure and pick a good motherboard. I've loved the ASUS boards, just put together my  build with a gigabyte one and the quality didn't seem as good. It was pretty inexpensive though.

Well all brands have well built and badly built motherboards, the ASUS cheap ones are just as bad.

I personally like Asrock
