New Graphics Card

Go to solution Solved by MrMcMuffinJr,

I have made my decision based on majority. (RX-480) Thanks for the help everyone!

I have a budget of $300. I need a GPU upgrade, but I'm torn on what to get. I want the best value because I hope to have some left over to double my memory and maybe swap out those very loud dans on my h100i. Here are my options.

GTX 1050 4gb

GTX 1060 6gb

RX-480 8gb

My current specs are my signature. I recently swapped the cpu from a g3258 to a 4790k.

Any help would be appreciated.

On paper the 1060 and 480 are basically on a par with one another. I would personally remove the 1050 from the running straight out of the gate.

Have a look at the following, it's by no means exaustive but may help:

Right now the gtx 1060 and rx 480 are the real value kings but i would go for the rx 480 due to the new driver updates.

Why? I only sited it as a starting point, it at least provides SOME information on the two cards side by side at a glance.

No it doesnt because it compares them super improperly

You get a free game with the 1060 but if we would to exclude that fact then i would take the RX 480 since freesync monitors are cheaper.

Dont use GPUboss or similar, their statistics are often very inaccurate and even if you find an example that works using their site will only give you a bad view of the market and others will question your reliability if you keep using them as source.
