CPU junkies and Electricians,

This might sound stupid (probably is) but I have a question about electricity, specifically in regards to how it's managed in a computer. I've noticed over the years that our computers have gotten much more powerful and faster with increased Herz running through it (GPU, GPU, MoBo, etc.). At what point is there too much going through the board to where it fails / fries? Is there such a point? Again, this might sound really dumb, but I do know a little bit about home electricity and blowing out fuse boxes. This is all probably figured out by the folks in Silicon Valley, but could there be a point where the components demand/receive too much power and trip the board?

Thanks y'all, always appreciated.
