Screen very strange

I built my pc and connected it to my old screen I haven't used in quite a while. The text and especially pictures look horrible on the screen. Is it a stupid setting or a dead monitor? Is there a way to fix it? At least temporary, because a new monitor is on the way. I attached a google picture search screenshot.

Um, well we can't actually see what your seeing since you gave us a screenshot. You'd have to take a picture of the screen from an external source like a phone.

 

Anyways It's probably your resolution is too low, did you try checking out and seeing if that is true?

The resolution is 1080p
