I need a wifi extender

GeorgeKellow

Title says it all. One current one gives me like 3 up and 3 down but on the router downstairs I we get 20up and 15 down. Can anyone recomend me one? (In the uk)

I'd be getting hold of a half decent router that supports DD-WRT, flashing it with said distro and making my own. Good fun and a bit of a project as well.

Don't use an extender. They're all crap. If you need another router to cover the upstairs, then either use a powerline adapter to get an ethernet line upstairs or run an ethernet wire upstairs to use a second router as an access point.

How do powerline adapters work?
