Yes you will need one, but there are also motherboards that have on board wireless adapters already on them. Or if you don't want to pay for it then you can just use the Ethernet cable.

CPU: i7-6700K | Motherboard: MSI Z170A Krait Gaming 3X | RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4-2666 Memory

Solid State Drives: Two PNY 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drives | GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition

PSU: Thermaltake Smart 650W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply | Case: Thermaltake Core V71 ATX Full Tower Case.

Yes you will need one,

that's the most wrong statement i've read all day.

i'd prefer to put it like this:

in an ideal world you should never need wireless internet on a desktop, the only case where you should get a wifi card of sorts is when putting in a cable is simply so impractical it warrants the downsides of wifi.

if you plan on using wifi -- then yes, you'll need one. if you have the possibility of getting an ethernet cable to your desktop -- dont bother.

You apparently didn't read the whole reply

your statement remains wrong, because your statement starts from a default "yes you need wifi"

while the default should be ethernet, with wifi as a "failover if no other choice"

I gave my opinion therefore I am both right and wrong. Since you're on the wrong side of course it is wrong to you, because you don't "agree". The guy asked a question and I gave an opinion regardless if he agreed with it or not. I am not trying to state a fact that you do need one, if you don't want internet that is your choosing.
