CPU Load issue

Something doesn't add up. With everything closed, task manager shows 30% usage. But the list only adds up to about 5%.Which makes me thing something is hidden from the list?

Looking at my original post - is it possible i just have an under-powered CPU?

I doubt it. Do you have all of the drivers installed? Including the chipset?

By the sound of things it seems that chrome is being a douche to you. Just throwing this idea out there, have you tried wiping out your chrome installation and installing a new one? Do you use chrome extensions?

I will check. I never installed them myself. I usually leave windows update to handle it as it's been fine in the past.

This issue persists after a complete reinstall of Windows. I use minimal plugins and the issue seems to be worse when watching YouTube.  

 

It's at its worst when watching twitch. Games are unplayable when watching that.

As you say it shouldn't happen though.

I need a new PC anyway. I recently got two 2560x1080 monitors so this PC isn't coping too well. Games are still playable but i like some headroom :).
