I have a phantom 3 pro drone and I am worried about flying it due to the radio tower 5 blocks behind my house. The tower is really weird because if I have my headphones plugged in to my phone and I walk near the tower it will play my local radio station. Should I worry about it?

I wouldn't, ever since rc radios went to digital 2.4ghz, they take advantage of frequency hopping technologies so you can get the best signal.

^^this^^

The reason that it plays over your headphones is because the cable acts like an antenna. When you are close enough to it, the electromagnetic radiation from the tower excites the wires just enough to overcome the signal from your phone.

If you want to be sure that it won't interfere, here's what you can do: Take some flights at very low altitude (lower than 5 feet) and very slow speeds (as slow as you can make it go). This way if something does go wrong, it won't break anything but possibly a propeller. If you're using the tablet/phone control functionality of the phone, make sure to test that as well at the same time.

ENCRYPTION IS NOT A CRIME
