Broken Hardware or win10 bug?

Hello, 

I have been running a gtx 560 for about 5 years, while I constantly kept upgrading the other hardware in my system. It is a zotac amp edition model. 

The system seems to be running fine until I start a game of some sort. When I do so, first the game freezes, then the entire screen freezes, and gets red stripes. Then the computer goes black. I all ready tried reinstalling the entire drivers with ddu. Sometimes even without starting a gpu intensive task it goes blue screen with video scheduler internal error. 

When I disconnected the gpu from the rest of the system and used the iGPU, I can do everything, although games are more of a slideshow, but I think this is normal on a Ivy bridge I5. 

 

Would be great if you could help me.

I would say try another GPU, if the problem remains the GPU itself is fine.
In that case it might be the PCI-e bar.

try the GPU on another PCI-e lane before you go lending a GPU or ruling it as GPU Failure

 

if the issue continues, you could have a faulty PCI-e bus or a faulty GPU

Okay, so I plugged the GPU into another pcie 16x slot of my maximus v formula. I get an image in bios, and also windows login, but the resolution is kind of weird. The entire image is surroundet by black stripes. When I finish typing in my password, the resolution gets normal for the touch of a second, but then the image disappears completely. The computer continued running normally. When I push the power button for a short time it beginns shutting down normal, and finishes successfully to do so. 

I think this clearly indicates haste ware failure on the gpu side of things, or what do you think?
