Missing Microship

So I bought a X79 mobo and I didn't realise it when I bought it but a microship is missing. I have no idea what the chip actually does, but as it is located right next to PCI-E slots I guess it's a PCI controller or atleast something related to that.

 

Please anyone, tell me what this chip does and where I coudl find a repalcement!

Well..... The CPU I tried it with either died when I put it in or arrived DOA...... It was a completely new and unused so I have no idea..... The italien I bought the mobo off said it worked and everything seems fine besides this microship so.....

Well this would end really bad if it was the board that killed my CPU....... Or if the CPU is actually alright but the mobo dead..... one angry american with access to a computer warehouse will be really pissed if that happens....
