posted by accident lmao Edited it though

Oh, anyways, I think that that gpu would be a nice upgrade to the one you have right now. What do you do on your computer? Like gaming or video editing or what?

Games/Youtube lol thats it. I was thinking i need an upgrade because on games like Ark survival evolved i cant get above 45 fps, do you think that card would be a big boost or is it a waste?

Well, it depends on how much you care about gaming on the highest settings in the latest games at a high framerate.

Your current card is still quite good IMO. I personally wouldn't upgrade just yet. Not that worth it. As for ARK, isn't that game essentially shit in terms of fps anyway? Last I heard, it wasn't that well optimized in the first place.

There will definitely be a boost in performance but it won't be that worth it if you're just playing something like that. Try lowering your in-game settings or adjusting the AMD preferences. If you really want a big performance (hopefully) boost, wait to see what the vega gpu will offer you.

16 gb is way too much for what you are doing; you really don't need that much ram unless you're multitasking the hell out of your machine but either way, you don't need that much ram.

Some games do use more than 8gb of RAM. Saying way too much isn't quite right. Battlefield 1 or Division iirc

As far as 16GB goes, I've only run into a single game that actually needed/benefited from it, and it's Space Engineers. But it's also nice to have that extra headroom regardless.

One more thing about Ark, do you have things like Tessellation enabled? AMD cards aren't that good with it, so you might need to open the Radeon Settings, go to the Gaming tab, click Global Settings and change Tessellation Mode to Override Application Settings, a new option will appear and set Maximum Tessellation level to 6 or 8x. I don't know if that will help in Ark, but it certainly helped for other games, like Witcher 3.
