It will, but only in CPU intensive games (GTA V, Overwatch etc)

The biggest hit will be in the minimum FPS...

Even with DX12, the developers have to specifically code for a certain number of thread/cores. The developers could very well say "nope, if Minecraft is good with one core, we will be too".

At 60hz I don't think it will be a big deal, but minimums are still better with the i7.
