Quick question about powerline compatability

Can I just assume that powerline adaptors from different brands work together (excluding zyzel, they Don't work with others)

 

I am asking this because I am going to get new gigabit powerine plugs from netgear (pl1000) and I want my old dlink dhp300s to work with them

 

I know TPLINK ones work with the dlink ones.

Might but no guarantee. I wouldn't bank anything on that working.
