So I got a ps2 with controller and cables for 16 bucks from goodwill. The disc laser wouldn't read though, and during my investigation to fix it the motor now doesn't spin. Any ideals? Also, the ribbon cable for the laser has a small tear.

ps2 disc drivers break often, and fixing them is a science to itself. there's tons of info on it, though. Really, it's easier and more worth it to get a different one.

Interesting fact, the manual said putting the ps2 vertical was better for it. It was not. Help the failure of the DVD drive.
