Hey all,

I've recently installed R9 FURY on my pc after uninstalling all Nvidia drivers from my gtx 970. The games started crashing after 15-30 minutes.

Ive decided to opt for the quick refresh windows options and it still crashed.

At first I thought the Fury might just be a bad asic but when I installed my gtx 970, I started seeing similar crashing results.

I've then decided to use DDU on safe mode to uninstall both AMD and NVIDIA drivers.

Then I have decided to go through long windows refresh that formats all my hard drives and insert r9 fury once again.

Upon sysprep, windows 10 automatically installed AMD drivers (?)

I've tried to use DDU again and reinstall AMD drivers from scratch..

Games still crash.

Anyone know how I can fix this issue?

maybe you uninstalled motherboard drivers along with whatever else you wanted to remove.

probably didn't need to use any uninstaller. just windows add/remove or the direct uninstall link in the start menu.

you guys gotta learn NOT to use these uninstallers the "pros" on sites are so anal about.

But .... You can't uninstall display drivers with windows add/remove. You have to go to device manager. DDU just makes sure all hidden folders are removed.. Also I installed chipset drivers for motherboard and all the other drivers :(.

What games and temps

Squad, Hitman, GTAV,Witcher 3. Temps are around 40 when idle, 60-70 when in game. I even used fan speed to 70% to keep it below 60.. Temp can't be the issue for both cards.. right? RIGHT??? :(

Used heaven benchmark for few hours, that ran fine though no corruptions or hangs..

When I had trouble with GFE, Nvidia recommended me to use DDU

Do you see a black screen and then the game crashes? Or your playing and suddenly it shows "NameOfTheGame.exe stopped working"?

okay, check the BIOS and make sure the graphics points to the pci-e slot/PEG/auto, etc.

( you could also try hooking the monitor to the motherboard now to see if it works.

If he only have problems while gaming, how can he test with the iGPU? Also, why checking if the graphics on the BIOS are in PCI-e slot/PEG/auto. If it wasn't, he wouldn't be able to see anything in the screen at all.

He has crashes, not a computer that doesn't boot. I asked what happens when it crashes, because if he see a black screen, the PSU might not be supplying enough energy for the cards to run.

Not a black screen , gamename.exe has stopped working .  Is it related to power?

Don't think so, when there's not enough power you usually get a black screen and then the game stops working. Maybe it's bad RAM or HDD/SSD? Try to run a RAM Diagnostics and see if there are any bad sectors in your HDD/SSD (do a error scan with HD Tune)

Could be it! I recently swapped ram and hdd from a I7 3770k system ! I will do it and let you guys know

So that shows 0% Error.. both ram diagnostic and hdd/ssd error scan with hd tune

But u are still running the same refreshed win 10 copy right ?

And u havent had these issues until u installed the r9 fury , for which u refreshed the OS ,  Why Not Give Win 8.1 a shot or even a Win 10 but from scratch

( Trust me it might work ).  Most of unexplained crashes like this were due to corrupt os ..

Besides , Did u try Underclocking ur Gpu ? maybe the Psu is actually acting up causing the gpu to mess up the calculations so the game crashes ?

(Its just a theory that might or might not be true )

What about on board graphics ? Crashing too ?

I am runing on same refreshed win 10 copy. And I didnt have issues until I switched my harddrive to another motherboard, which didnt work so i came back to my old motherboard and then installed r9 fury. R9 Fury was working fine before on this motherboard.. idk why it started giving problems now. My 970 is also crashing in similar fashion.

I have underclocked the r9 fury, same result.

I might take your word and buy win 10, which ofc I didn't originally if you know what I mean..Hopefully it'll work

On board as in intel hd? Untested.. should i test it? What should I test it on

Sounds a good idea, if there's a problem with the PCIe slot, the iGPU should work fine. Test the same games you were testing, ofc with lowest settings possible.
