Dual input headphones setup

So after a long session of trial and error, trying to use virtual audio cable in order to have my recording software record only my in game audio without skype, I have given up on the idea. So now I am thinking of doing the same trick on the hardware side. I am going to use my laptop as a dedicated skype machine, have that audio output combine with my desktop (which is recording) through a series of adapters to the same pair of headphones. Provided I can find sail adapters, will it work in theory?
