Hey so I've recently acquired a newer apu system (fm2+) and I have another radeon 7000 series lying around and i know that it's less powerful than the apu but i would like to test out some cross-fire if possible but I don't have a DP or DVI cable is there a way to use the apu video out instead of the dgpu?

shoot almost forgot the specs if you want to know
CPU: A8 7600
IGPU: R7 Graphics
DGPU: Radeon 7000 series? (that's all it says in device manager)

RAM: Balistix Sport 8G DDR3

Choose the GPU or the APU. Not both. It wont work but its nice to have if one day you GPU dies and you wont have a dead pc you can still use it.

You can run and APU and GPU in crossfire but Im not sure which ones are compatible

From reading the 7750 would be the gpu you would want to crossfire. From there idk.

okay i think this is a 7450 so a little performance loss but i can always overclock i suppose. i'm not really doing it for a dedicated rig i'm just curious what it would be like in games and stuff

But i've heard you can crossfire the apu's with a similar spec'd gpu

The technology used to run APU iGPUs and low-end dGPUs in tandem is called 'Dual Graphics'. I think there's a pane for it in the Radeon control panel.

So by the amd site, they recommend an r7 240, or another r7 series card. Amd crossfire doesn't always require the same gpu, but sometimes others within the same series will also work.

Edit: okay that was short lived hope i can't find a bios for a 8470 if anyone has this card can you upload the bios please

Edit2: This list has compatible card bios here if you have any of these cards please upload the bios if you can
P.S. You can get a copy of your bios from gpu z

Edit3: ignore edit 1&2 i found it it's "unverified"
