Best current router to buy?

I've recently been bumped up from a 100/35 plan to a 300/35 plan from my local ISP and to go with it i'm looking for a good 802.11ac compatible router. I know that there was a ton of buzz around the Linksys WRT1900AC when ac was fairly new, but i've not paid much attention to the market since. 

 

In short, looking for top notch router recommendations.

i've really enjoyed the asus RT-AC68U for the brief moment i had one, unfortunately i had some bad luck with DOA's so i no longer have one

 

(essentially, the batch my preferred retailer got was very sensitive to the peaks i get on my local power grid, and they all died instantly, it's a very unhappy isolated case, because at the time that was their hottest selling router with me being the first with issues)
