Overclocking 2015 Macbook Pro AMD

Hey guys,

 

I have been trying see if I can overclock the AMD Radeon R9 M370X graphics in my 2015 Macbook Pro while running Windows 10 in bootcamp.

I've used the latest drivers from bootcampdrivers.com and have used the overdrive feature to up the GPU Clock and Memory Clock. This works great for about 30-60 seconds, then drops back down to the defaults. I'm assuming because of some sort of thermal throttling, but I tried overriding the fans (Macs Fan Control) to help keep it cool, but with no success.

 

Are there any suggestions on how I can maintain the overclock?

Because at this point, I don't have any other option to play games on. So any extra FPS I can suck from the machine is golden!

I would not try it. That chip probably overheats as it is, it would probably get damaged if you attempted to overclock it.

So after doing some more playing around, I've realised that I can actually get far better performance from my MacBook just by playing games in an intensely air-conditioned room. Unfortunately that isn't a luxury I have at the moment, so I was going to see if anyone has any recommendations for keeping my MacBook cool while it's running?

They don't really do much, a couple degrees at best. I've heard good things about the Opolar cooler, as it has been featured on LTT.

Please don't. Even if you can thermals are already horrible and the Apple chargers are already at their max voltage so overclocking could ruin a lot of things. Also why did you get a macbook to game?

I've decided not to overclock now, so it's just about getting better temperatures.

I didn't choose to get a MacBook Pro; it's a work notebook (fully specced) that can play games. I don't have a gaming rig and don't want to fork out a couple grand to get one. So I'm just seeing what options there are to use what I do have to get somewhat of a decent gaming experience.
