Xbox One controller wireless

I am looking to get Xbox one controller after my old wired Xbox 360 has died

 

My PC has bluetooth and wif and is running Windows 10. Does the wireless adapter were required for Xbox 360 only? I believe you don't need them anymore for Xbox One controllers

 

So far I have found these controllers for cheap and looks great. Color wise I would want a black/blue not bright gray/blue

Budget is 50 CAD. I would prefer Xbox controllers from Xbox itself but other would be fine

 

Also how do I charge them? Just USB cable or do I need a Plug and play charge kit?

• Dusk Shadow
• Midnight Forces
• Blue (seems too simple but would go for it if I can find it cheap)
• Gears of War 4 JD Fenix (not sure bout the skull and overall too gray)

With the latest version of controllers they use Bluetooth so you wouldn't need the adapter if your computer already has Bluetooth but make sure it is the latest version before you buy. The wireless adapter is for older versions of the XbOne controller

All wireless Xbox controllers use regular AA batteries for power. If you want rechargeable batteries, you need the plug and play charge kit or equivalent.

 

The USB port does not charge the batteries unless it's the plug and play charge kit.

Damn it Xbox. I mean PS3 and PS4 dualshock uses regular USB cables to charge why can't you do that??

Plug and play charge kit seems expensive to me. Damn it

And seeing myself buying AA battery everytime is also a bummer

 

I wanted to enjoy the benefit of having a controller. A wired one it is then.

You can buy a regular Xbox controller and plug it in using USB and it'll work like a wired one.

 

Honestly I think using standard AA batteries is better than a not-meant-to-be-replaced LiPo battery. I mean, if you wanted, you can get Eneloops for about the same price (I think), which would be more versatile.

 

EDIT: Yup, Walmart at least has an Eneloop kit for $35

Figured that out, still need batteries. So I can just grab a wireless oen and plug cables?

I use the same cable I charge my phone with as long as it is micro USB it works. You only need batteries if you want wireless. You could just buy normal rechargeables as they are normally cheaper but you will need a battery charger for those

Hmm but seeing that I can save money in the long run with charge kit and not having to remember to go to walmart and get batteries seems nice. Plus it seems they aren't that expensive (I thought they were). 20 CAD at EBgames recycled is not that much

I might get a charge and play kit then. Not sure if seperate charger would be cheaper

I might add that the Eneloop packaging claims the AA batteries have a 2000mAH life. That seems bog standard for a lithium battery of about the same physical size. Sure the recharge time is 7 hours, but the kit comes with a bunch, just keep the batteries in the charger.

Which is 20.07 CAD if converted correctly. I would have to pay for shipping though and I can pick a kit at ebgames locally

Would they last longer though

I feel like plugging to my wall would charge faster than through a usb cable.

The USB cable only charges the official plug and play charge it. It does not recharge anything else you put into it.

 

And by lasting longer... they'd probably last about the same as the plug and play kit. But at least at that point you just buy more Eneloop batteries rather than a brand new PnP charging kit.

God damn it now I am stuck between more expensive eneloop batteries but allowing you to charge more and use more or the cheaper PnP kit that charges with usb

nvm thanks to Factory Direct I now have a solution. Would it work with any other rechargable AA?
