I'm pretty sure it's been stated that DirectX 12 will be supported on Windows 7. And even so, games that support it won't be around until end of 2015, and by then, Windows 9 should be out.

True, but do you really think micro$oft is going to get rid of the eye cancer by then?

One way or another you're going to have to switch, and honestly windows 8 is better than 7 in a lot of ways.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd like to think that because of the disappointing reception/sales of Windows 8, they'd be inclined to undo some of that eye cancer...but who knows with Microsoft these days.

You're right though, a switch is inevitable. Still, I just personally feel there isn't enough there for me to spend the time/money to switch to Windows 8.1 currently. Maybe if Windows 9 turns out to be outright terrible, I might switch, but for now I can only hope...

Hopefully SteamOS, Linux and other stuff becomes more popular so that micro$oft have to cut out the bullshit.

If I follow the rule of 2 I will go with Win 9 when it comes out and wait to find out if it's good or not but by the rule of 2 it should be a good OS.

If your wondering what I mean about the rule of 2 is this:

Win 95 = OK,

Win 98 = Bad,

Win 98 SE = Good,

Win ME = Bad,

Win XP = Great,

Win Vista = Bad,

Win 7 = Great (probably going to last as long as XP but I could be wrong, Plus DX 12 is making the case that I will use it till it's not supported by MS).

Win 8 = Bad

Win 9 = Should be Good but who knows at this point.

I like how this topic went from ShadowPlay to windows 8 discussion.

Btw just my 2 cents but all that crap I just read about Windows 8 and needing some custom tools to get rid of the menu and whatever all that stuff. Bullshit, just update yer damn windows! It's pretty much a normal desktop now. Not hard to use anyway and I prefer it even above windows 7. That being said back to Shadowplay.

What's this all on limitations on files and time? Oh wait you all keep settings enabled who will limit the files. There is no time limitation once you disable that, there is no file chunks if you disable that and quality is great. Just learn how to use the settings manually. Only bad thing is that those recordings have is the audio, microphone and game audio are in the same thread. Once they split that I will even ditch my Dxtory.

The streaming they added has a annoying issue somehow. Setting it to 3.5mpbs streaming setup just like my OBS and I will get massive lag after 30 minutes or so. Something that doesn't happen with OBS. Shadowplay streaming looks like to have a habit of eating all your internet.

using Shadowplay and rendering it with Sony Vegas has really started to work for me. I like how the UI in Vegas looks like Sonar and since I was familiar with Sonar 4 it was easy to start using Vegas. It was a pain to find a good format to render to so it would look good on Youtube and I finally found that using AVCHD 1920x1080 60i has been the best so far. I know Youtube will still smash it down and make it worse but the files on my HDD still look good and I'm going to keep them like that.

Man, shadowplay has so much potential.

All it needs is a separate audio stream for a microphone and it'll be a perfect Dxtory replacement.

I thought they added that...  Anyway if you want to use a mic, turn on the setting to your mic plays in your headphones in real time and it will record it.  (in windows sound settings)
