Hi all,

I'm a little lost as to what to do. Today, I got an NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM (Ntfs.sys) error when I shook my mouse to wake my PC up.. And I researched the error and found that Microsoft recommended that you run Driver Verifier, which I did I rebooted and got the same error and then it rebooted again and then got this error: driver verified detection violation gdrv.sys. Now, Microsoft did say that it would reboot a couple of times and display any errors, and I'm guessing they were it, but I'm not sure how to fix them... What should I do? Many thanks in advance.

Depending on the OS a system restore would be my first course of action if you have it enabled and it continues to generate errors. Otherwise, Windows 10's system refresh has helped me in the past with some wonky errors. Granted, you'll have to reinstall all your software. Your event viewer may also be able to shed some more light on the actual problem as well.

I was digging through some other forums after seeing this. They mentioned that a software called Gigabyte Easy Saver software is where the gdrv.sys comes from and has been known to cause issues. The other part of that solution were to make sure your bios and UEFI drivers are up to date.

It's funny you should say that because I have a Gigabyte motherboard installed (brand new). I honestly don't remember if I installed that or not. Could I just search that in a regular search?

Yea, I just googled errors coming from gdrv.sys or something to that effect and there are lots of bsod fixes when gdrv.sys causes issues as well as some other error recordings. That seemed to be the general fix for it.

I honestly put a new hard-drive in it and upgraded to Windows 10. It got to the point where the desktop was flickering and it was running slow.. And then after I installed the new drive, the old one wouldn't even boot.. So I got it just in time, a series of errors leading to its death...
