you won't kill it.  if you are not going to OC it then it's a bit of a waste getting it.  

Even a gentle 200-300mhz boost won't hurt your temps much at all on air.

Yes it will do the job just fine. I would check on BeQuiet website to make sure there are no compatibility issues with your Motherboard as some can interfere with the top pcie slot
