I have an Athlon X4 860K and it has been acting up. Despite only being at 48 degrees celsius, my cpu clock is jumping from 4GHZ to 1.7GHZ. I have turbo and AMD cool&quiet off and have set the clock ratio to 40. Why is my CPU doing this? (During an AIDA64 stress test with CPU, FPU, and cache checked).

Thats a common thing to happen when the cpu isnt being used or is being barely used.

If its doing that when at 100% usage in games though, then it'd be a worry.

This is happening during an aida64 stress test with CPU, GPU, and cache checked.
