this may be a bit confusing but here goes i have two pcs at the moment but one needs a new hard drive or ssd i havent decided on that based on the fact i may sell it but it also need a cpu because i took the i7 4790 out to put in my new build i wondering if i should get a new one for my main pc or go cheap on a cpu for the old one

Umm, I'm guessing both computers are running haswell. You can definitely do what you said, get a 4790k for the new pc, but my question is, do you need hyperthreading on both pcs? Do you overclock? Because if not, then save the 4790 for the current build, and get something like the 4690 (or some i5) for the old pc. 

 

Also, for some budget options, I like to think that ssd and hdd combos are best. You get a smaller ssd 120-240gb for boot drive and important programs, and then have a hard drive for games and larger files.
