here's the deal:
i have a dock...
i have a Microsoft surface pro...
ahhhh... Microsoft surface pro in a dock

yeah so i want to hook a monitor up to that, and have a calendar always on the laptop display, then i want to hook up a Logitech wireless keyboard thing; use the built in laptop keyboard just for the calendar and the Logitech thing for the rest (laptop has touchscreen, so the mouse is covered).  but when it gets unhooked, the keyboard functions as normal. is it possible?

You can't do that in windows(maybe with a vm, haven't tried it on windows).

Its much easier to just move the mouse over and change focus.

First thing; your post is both titled terribly and written in a very unclear way.
Try rewording it if you're not getting the responses you're after.

If you're asking what I think you're asking, it don't think it is possible. I'm also unclear as to why you can't just use the Logitech wireless KB for the calendar and the rest of your PC work, surely alt-tab is faster than moving your hands to a separate KB.
