I've seen a ton of water cooled builds here and on other sites through my adventures through the internet, and it seems like all of them refuse to fill the reservoir completely, and i was wondering if there was any special reason for this? Because it always seems to make condensation in the top which doesn't look very good. Thanks!

I think it's mainly because with every power cycle, a little more coolant is drained from the res, as there are tiny air bubbles that don't come out when you first fill the loop.

This means that over time the res becomes less full, and it's a pain to refill.

I'm not sure how true this is, as I'm not that up with custom loops.

Hopefully someone with more experience will let you know :)

I do it so I can see the waterline... so i can see there's water in there... I guess that's not really a reason.

Also you find the if the res is full just above where the eye can see when the system is on the water level will drop a fraction...

Also water does evaporate a bit over time... just lazy in filling it back up maybe?
