Note 7 ROM and Corruption update

Hi, I was wondering what would happen if you flashed a Note 7 ROM onto a phone to get a newer version of Android, because Samsung are apparently going to release an update to remaining Note 7 devices to attempt to brick them, and all the previous updates to limit the battery life and kick them of the mobile networks, do the none Note 7 devices with a Note 7 ROM get the brick, or is it a hardware-based update and not a Samsung specific update? Thanks!

You CANNOT flash a ROM that is not designed for its specific device, each device has differences in hardware and software that make them incompatible, even if the specs sheet looks similar. Now, the brick will most likely be a hard brick. A hard brick cannot be recovered as it means hardware failure. A soft brick is just software failure so you could potentially recover the phone, which is not what Samsung wants. They want all traces of the phone to be gone to prevent more damage to people and them. Hope this helps.
