here is a link to my current build. It says my motherboard is not compatible with my drive but I have doubts about this. please tell me if this is true. feel free to leave some more suggestions to improve my build. I am going for a black and green style so no red parts please. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/6z3kHN

If I'm not mistaken that SSD needs to plug into an m.2 port using an adapter (that comes with it) not regular sata, which might be throwing weird things with pc parts picker because the official port that ssd uses is 2.5 inch u.2 which that board does not support.

I might be wrong.

I believe Asus used to sell an adpater to get that drive to attach to the m.2 port on the motherboard. But either way, you should look at the 960 evo or 960 pro from samsung over the Intel 750.

The drive comes with that adapter. But I do agree, the samsung 960 pro will be faster and less compatibility concerns.

The 960 pro is faster, has less compatibility issues and has a better $/gb ratio. Also, its in the m.2 form factor so no adapters and no external pieces, everything is neatly kept on the motherboard. Also changed your PSU to a 650w G2 since unless you plan on going SLI in the future you don't need 850 watts.
Also that motherboard is way overpriced, but its not really a problem over just being wasteful

that's not what I meant. i found a 750 for 200$ on Canada computers because of clearance sales. 60% off! for that price i could run them in raid 0 and reck 960 pro. what i was asking is doesn't the motherboard have a u.2 slot? i checked the reviews and it said it does. whos making the mistake?

No that board does not have a U.2 slot, but the drive does come with the adapter so I don't think you'll have any issues. Just keep in mind it only has 1 m.2 slot so you will only be able to run one of these drives.

As for a monitor to take advantage of the 1070, something with high refresh rate(140hz), and I wouldn't go over 1440p for resolution, the 1070 is powerful, but cannot run 4k smoothly.
