Ok. So I am looking to build my first custom PC. I have already purchased some of the parts for it, and just want to make sure everything is compatible. I know pcpartpicker does have a compatibility check however, its not 100% accurate. I just want to make sure I am going to be able to use these parts together. I have already bought the: CPU, SSD, HD, and Case. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/J39pQV

If things do need to change or if you have questions regarding what i'm looking for in terms of compatibilities message me and ill get back. I appreciate your help!

PCPP has you covered. It's compatible.

But why a $200 CAD cooler for a locked CPU? Ultimately a waste of money unless aesthetics is that big of a priority. Also, 850W is way overkill for a i7 6700 + GTX 1070 build.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Spoiler

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K - 4.5 GHz | Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO | RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 | SSD: Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB | GPU: MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6GB | PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 | Case: NZXT Phantom 530 | Cooling: CRYORIG R1 Ultimate | Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q | Peripherals: Corsair Vengeance K70 and Razer DeathAdder

I do know that the cooler is really overkill, however I am going more for the aesthetic than the functionality. Also the high watt power supply is there for when I upgrade in the future with different parts. That also ties in with the CPU and CPU cooler.

Please forgive i'm new at this. But is there much difference?

RMX do you perfect I was just saying if you  get a 700 watt in stead of a 850watt

RMXi bit of better PSU it just a bit high in the Series of Corsair's PSU.

I am looking to add cable mods in the future so is it a modular PSU as well? or is it semi modular?
