I already know the answer, but I would like others opinions.

I currently have a gaming computer I bought off Bestbuy.  I kind of regret it but it's a good PC.  I upgraded the GPU to a 980 Ti and have a Intel Core i5-4430 3.00GHz at 4 cores (default) and with a default motherboard.  For memory, I upgraded it DDR4 16 Gb of ram.

My new build : LIST - I will be using my existing 980ti and PS which is 600 or 700 watts.  I just picked the primary components.

Will this be beneficial for the price? Thanks

I would just wait until boxing day at least. Definitely wouldn't put my eggs in the AMD basket at this point, but that's just me.

DDR4 on Haswell?

White RAM stick on a black red mobo?

Hyper 212 is not the best cooler out there

What do you mean DDR4 on Haswell?

I just quickly listed the ram on PC part picker, I will be using red.

CPU cooler recommendations?  I am not doing water cooling.

Noctua NDH15 is a soliud choice but could be ugly. Or get Le Grand Macho (the name ikr)

I thought you were upgrading to 16GB of RAM when you had your i5. Sorry. I understand what you mean now

Yeah. 6700k and the RAM works fine

Imo quite a bad time to invest into a new build.

Ryzen has the potential to be a gamechanger, should all the information be accurate.

My two cents would be to wait for another half a year, give or take.

I have a NHD15 and can confirm it's definitely the best on the market rn. Solid performance for a great price

doesnt their cpu lack hyper threading?  Wouldn't the 6700k be faster, if not the same?

Uhm, no. One of the Ryzen CPUs showed off (only one, I think) is an 8-core 16-thread CPU that kicks the living hell out of Intel's 6900K

What about the price?  I don't want to spend more than like 300 dollars for a cpu.  It sounds like it would be pricy

No word on prices, but AMD can't afford to go too high in the price range. I'd put the 8-core 16-thread CPU somewhere around $600 and I'm fairly sure they'll have 4-core 8-thread CPUs for around $300.

Like I said, AMD can't afford to go head-to-head in the same price ranges as Intel. If Ryzen pans out well for AMD, we should be seeing lower prices on the Intel side too.

So would it be worth buying the 6700k for 300?  Even if their 4 core one came out, there wouldn't be that much of a difference I assume
