Add your game to steam if it's not a game steam.
Then in steam go to settings\ in-game and turn on fps counter. 
Make sure you pick high contrast colour.

The old ShadowPlay is now renamed - its just called "Share".

 

In GeForce Experience 3.2 go to "share" (the three point triangle next to settings cog).

Then select the cog (for settngs).

Then select overlays

Then click on FPS Counter.  

Then select which quarter of screen to put it in by highlighting in the quadrants above the OFF button.

( click "off" to turn it on (Off should be NOT highlighted).)

 

The counter will probably NOT show up immediately.  you need to start a game for it to show.

Now, im getting average 115 fps in bf1 with gtx 1080 is that normal or should i be gtting more in 1080p everything ultra
