I need a new hdd since my HGST one is not compatible with my motherboard. Anyone know if this drive works with my motherboard from experience i cant seem to find the skew under the support page?

There aren't hdd and mobo compatibities problems, any sata drive should work.

 

More than likely you have a bad hdd or a bad sata port/controller, unless you have tested both of those.

 

What board and cpu do you have and what drive.

why can't the HGST one work? I mean SATA is just SATA, doesnt have too much fancy stuff. the Seagate one should work w/ your mobo

Any HDD as long as it has SATA port will work. The list does not cover all the HDD in existance

 

Yours should work fine. Did you return the old HGST one?

I had to RMA the first drive because it was insanely slow and making a grinding noise, the new one just as bad and no improvement. full posts here 

Also for CPU i have a 6700k, msi z170a gaming carbon, hgst deskstar 3tb nas drive
