800 - 1200 could have a 1tb wd blue/black, 6700k+ z170 board, slightly better psu, and still be under 1200.

You can do up a good build for almost half of your minimum tier. There's a parts list for a $300 PC in my signature, and surprise- the power supply is better than those in all of your builds except the last one (It's an Antec Earthwatts 500).

 

Besides, there's no real point to this.

I agree. Why would you have two separate SSDs? Couldn't you just get a higher capacity, single drive and the extra HDD and call it a day?
