LED Strips (Beginner)

Hi,

i picked the PC components for my sisters pc and want to add some LED lightning but i am a total beginner.

 

How do i connect the LED to the pc?

Any products you can recommend?

You need to state the case model as some cases have affordable accessories like phanteks have an rgb that works with the case buttons. Search for led strips with sata or molex connectors. I like the nzxt braided led but the power connector was too short for me to use without modification. I picked up a cheap unknown brand but its in the mail so I can't say if its any good. If you want something cool check out electro luminescence lighting

I recommend the cablemod LED lightning kit. It is easy to install, too.

 indeed. I have 2 of the 60cm wide LED widebeam magnetic strips in my case and they shine amazingly. For power, they require just 1 sata power plug. You can daisy chain a few together as well. Nice and simple.

The strips I have are magnetic. As long as your chassis is steel (Which the Define S is) and not aluminum, magnetic will work. They also have some that have an adhesive type foam that  you would apply. I would strongly recommend the magnetic ones over any adhesive any day.

You can pick the kind you want; magnetic or adhesive. Once you have your strips, take your case and open the side panel and use the cable that comes with the kit to attach it to your PSU cables.
