System underperforming

Hi all,

 

First I'll list my pc specs:

 

MOBO: AsRock H77Pro4-m

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 (not K!) 3.4GHz, not overclocked, with stock cooler.

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC ACX 3.0

RAM: 2x 4GB Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600 RAM

PSU: Corsair RM750

BIOS: Updated to the latest version.

Storage:  Intel SSD 320 Series 600GB x4 (RAID-5) + some 1TB HDD

FYI, I install all my games on my SSD raid.

OS: Windows 10 Pro

 

So I recently upgraded from a GTX 770 to a GTX 1070. I expected some nice FPS increases, but my FPS ins' t actually that much higher. Today while playing GTA 5 I just couldn't handle it anymore, I have got a damn 1070 and I'm still running on 40 fps (!) with the recommended settings by NVIDIA. That' s maybe 10 fps more than I got with my GTX 770.

 

So I decided to do a 3DMark benchmark. Looking at the results of that benchmark, I think my entire system is really underperforming. I have attachedmy Firestrike benchmark and a reference benchmark of someone else.

As you can see in the results, there is quite some difference in the results, although the CPU and GPU are exactly the same on both systems.

 

List of things I have already tried:

- Turn my pc off and on again 

- Reinstall all of my NVIDIA drivers

- Update my BIOS to the latest version

- Trying to run games with some background applications like skype, discord and chrome, shut down.

- Rage about why my system is underperforming.

- Search on the internet for solutions.

 

None of the things listed above have made any change to the performance of my system!

 

Someone, please help! I am clueless! If you have any questions, do ask!

Dafuq, ok um is this in all games or just GTA V

Have you done the basics such as running msi afterburner in GTA with the on screen display activated, checking nothing is throttling back due to temperatures, and also that you are getting full usage/frequencies?
Also make sure you have most of the 'advanced graphics' settings turned off as they will bring pretty much any system to its knees

I get this in almost every game that requires some big performance. Games like Rocket League or CS:GO run fine on max settings, because those games are less demanding.

I have run MSI afterburner, I haven't logged the results though (I uploaded a screenshot). I saw that all of my CPU cores were around 95% and sometimes topped to 100%. However I had some settings of 'advanced graphics' turned on. CPU temeratures were at 60 degrees Celcius, which should be fine right? I don' t remember the GPU temperatures, but my guess is that the temperatures aren't the problem.

 

Although I had advanced graphics settings turned on, poor performance was also in other games like Fallout 4, AC: Black Flag and Space Engineers.

 

Tell me if you want some more benchmarks or other data.
