fps drops when 2 apps open

cpu: intel core i7-470k  4.00GHz  Quad core

GPU: nvidia geforce GTX 970 4GB 

Ram: 32 GB (4x 8GB) DDR3 1866MHz

PSU: coolermaster 600 watt

OS: windows 10 pro 64bit

Hard drive: 250gb SSD, 1tb HDD

 

the problem is everytime i have a game running and any other app e.g(youtube, teamspeak) i get major fps drops every 1-2 seconds.

This has only been happening for the past 2 months, i used to be able to run anything with many apps open while streaming and didn't have a problem.

i have updated all my drivers and done a fresh re-install of windows, i even wiped my HDD clean and still it hasn't fixed the issue.

i've ran a full scan with bit defender and it didn't flag anything up, i'm literally out of options, can somebody please help.

so i just checked my cpu and gpu performance and usage with 2 apps open and then just with the game open, drop frames when they are both open but then goes back to normal with just game running, even though it does this my cpu and gpu dont really change at all they seem consistent

So its most likely you are just low on RAM. How much do you have?

my cpu is meant to be able to handle alot more than 2 apps considering it is 1 of the best in the market at the minute, i specifically bought it for that reason, i never used to have a problem with it its only lately, im fairly confident it is a gpu problem and not a cpu problem its just trying to figure out exactly what the problem is
