Headphone doesn't scan

I have a laptop which is an ASUS X450JB that i bought last year. It has a core I7 4720hq, 4gb RAM, and a 940m. It's running on Windows 10 Pro

One day i plug my headset to the laptop and somehow the laptop doesn't scan the headphone and then i find how to fix this issue and i try all of them and none of them works.
I test all of my friends headset and it doesn't scanned either which means it's not the headset problem.

I don't know if this is my laptop problem or the windows

PLEASE HELP ME GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This sounds like a driver issue

i had a similar experience when i first did the win10 upgrade from win7

i would have to manually go into sound devices and enable/set default the audio source i wanted

Are you able to select your headphones in Playback Devices?

Somehow the headphone picture is not there and I can't select my headphones in Playback Devices.
