So i'm a student, and I work in different computer labs for software engineering and my web design classes.

I do have a laptop, but the software we use is often installed on the PC's only, and it's a lot of hassle to use my laptop instead of the school-provided computers. However, the provided Dell keyboards are pieces of crap. Most have keys missing, and the school won't replace them.

So here's my question, has anybody used a decent keyboard that I could keep in some sort of case, whip out of my backpack, and use in place of the crappy school keyboards? Bluetooth is optional, maybe it could use some sort of USB dongle on the IO, or not. It could be wired too.

Also, since i'll be keeping it in my backpack it'll have to be relatively small, ten key less style keyboards would be preferred.

I've done a little searching around myself, but without much luck. I figured asking here would bear a little more fruit.

I eagerly await all of your suggestions!

Depends on your budget. Pretty much any 10-keyless would do you well. I can recommend a few decent wireless keyboards, but the typing experience on them is (IMHO) worse than on standard dell's.

Something like the corsair k65 with detachable cable would be great for you, but it isn't cheap.

When in doubt, re-format.

I'm familiar with the k65, but not with it's detachable cable ability. Would you explain that for me?

I like the looks of the K65, but that Logitech 380 seems to have taken the cake. I'll get it as soon as i can. Thanks for the input, everyone!
