gta 5 gpu low gpu usage

I have the following setup:

i7 4790

msi gtx 1070 gaming x

asrock b85m-dgs

samsung ssd

500w 80+ psu

 

I dont know why is this, when i put gta 5 with msaa 2x/4x/8x, the gpu usage sits at 99%. When i turn msaa to off, the gpu usage fluctuates 50-80% and also the fps.

Power is set to maximum performance in windows and nvidia control panel. I have the latest driver. The cpu usage never hits 100%, it is between 30-70%. Temps are 70 degrees for gpu and 55 for cpu.

Hyper-threading is activated.

I really dont know why is this happening. It also occurs in mafia 3 only when i lower settings (but in mafias case could be bad optimisation).

That is sort of normal,FPS always fluctuates unless you are using VSYNC, GSYNC or Freesync, MSAA is quite GPU intensive.

If i set msaa 4x the fps is stable, gpu usage is 99%, everything is ok with or without vsync.

If i disable msaa, the gpu usage fluctuates (just like i have some bottleneck), the fps is not stable and is lower than with msaa on.

Pay attention to 1:27 when he is turning msaa to off. Look what happens to gpu usage

Could this be a pagefile related problem? Mine is set to automatically.

Ok so i found some guy on youtube who has i7 4790k and gtx 1070, and has the exact same problem as i do:

 

Gpu usage is awfull. Is this the games problem?

it's because GTA 5 is CPU intensive and a GTX 1070 is stupid powerful for 1920x1080 resolution it's more of a 2560x1440 graphics card if you ask me...i use an overclocked 980ti which is as fast as a 1070 and guess what if i drop to 1080p and turn of anti-aliasing it won't get max GPU load in many games and that's just normal...those cards can even do 4K high...bro.

I dont get it. What if i want to play it on a 1080p 144hz screen and i need 100+ fps?
