May I ask what monitor are you using? It will most likely mirror you TV, although some HDMI splitters may be able to extend your screen real estate.

EDIT: Can anyone confirm that they have used an HDMI splitter in an extended not duplicated display setup?

is it not possible to change this somehow?

Most likely not, is it possible for you to connect a new monitor to DVI or VGA at all?

You plug in the USB and get a VGA output to go into a new monitor, you may not be able to play games, but it would work for a standard second monitor.

hello, i have a monitor with 1 hdmi in and 1 out.

my pc only allowes 1 hdmi so i whas thinking, if i want to use 2 monitors can i connect one with my gpu and 1 with the 1st monitor? will this copy the imige or can i split it?

This is called daisy-chaining, it can only be done on monitors with special ports specifically designed for this. Normally, each display needs its own cable to the computer. It's likely your computer has other outputs besides HDMI which can be used for more monitors though.
