I have a x4 860k and it is overclocked to 4ghz with a cm hyper 212x.

Under full load it gets to about 65 degrees celsius/150 fahrenheit.

Every time i do a test it classifys it as a 3.7ghz processor and sometimes as a 3.5ghz processor.

At that moment the clockspeeds in hardwaremonitor go down to.

What is going on here and how can i solve it?

65 degrees celsius isn't bad. And did your overclock save? There should be no reason for it to me holding itself back like that unless your overclock didn't save.

Yes my BIOS and hwmoniter say it runs at 4ghz and when the tests are running it just downclocks itself.

Well the only other thing is Thermal Throttling but I don't think that is going to happen at 65 degrees celsius..

Hell, my cpu gets to like 75 degrees In ARK and it still holds a constant clock.

I have a Asrock fm2a88x extreme4+ with all the latest drivers installed, so it should be no issue.

Is the CPU getting enough power? If it is, then I really have no idea other than to reset your bios and then do the overclock again, because maybe some voltage options are on that need to be off.
