I'm planning on buying all the parts for my first rig as a Christmas present to myself, and I've researched PC building and compatibility for months, but I'm still paranoid that something won't work, or I'll be missing some cable and will have to wait a week for the cable. Here are the parts for my build I'm planning on buying. Can someone reassure me and tell me if I'll be missing some Power Supply cables/adapters or anything else that might give me trouble? Thank you in advance!

Build looks fine for the most part, but here are some suggestions:

1. Extra cost for the i5 6600 over the i5 6500 isn't worth it. Just opt for the i5 6500 and save a few bucks there.

2. Since this isn't a SFF build, you'd be better off with an aftermarket card rather than a blower style one that will run cooler and quieter.

3. 120GB isn't much. I'd at least get a 1TB HDD.

4. Get a better power supply, that one is not good at all. The Corsair CX450M should do well as a relatively cheap option.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

This looks good  to me, I would plug it into PC part picker to make sure, and to make sure you get the best prices.

you linked the wrong one. there should be a permalink on the build or hit [bb] and copy the build here

Be weary of a single fan card they can be loud and hot :)

I would not get that Power Supply at all. Get a Seasonic S12II or CX450M and you will be better. But if you want yes PSU should come with all the cables you need

This seems to be the power supply everyone gets, how could it be that bad? Plus, the one you mentioned has a 450W output which is less than the recommended one on NVIDIA's website for the 1060. The 500W upgrade doubles in price :(

I don't understand #2, I'm still new to PC building, and I really don't understand what could be wrong with the PSU considering everyone buys it?

Blower style cards push hot air out the back of the card, directly out the case, making it appropriate for small form factor (or SFF) builds. Thing is, they usually run hotter and louder than your average aftermarket card.

Just because it's a popular choice, doesn't mean it's a good one. Component quality, voltage regulation, ripple suppression are only a few factors out of many that determine how good a power supply is and how likely it is to die and potentially take out other components such as the motherboard or GPU. The fact that it's cheap and doesn't have a bronze efficiency rating should be two red flags. A power supply is not something you want to cheap out on.

Is this PSU a good choice? Thank you for the input :)

It's most sold, along with almost entirely positive reviews.

The Fx-8350 also have almost entirely positive reviews. That doesn't mean its a good buy in the slightest.

It's better but it's not exactly the best choice.

I'd get this: https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-CX550M-BRONZE-Haswell-Modular/dp/B01B72W0A2

Or this: https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-S12II-520-BRONZE-SS-520GB/dp/B00390P1NO/

Its better but not the best. I had the Cx600 in the past and it had some ambient temperature issues. Although Its still better than the first one.

I just thought of one more thing. As far as my OS goes, would everything work if I put Windows onto an external Drive booted it from there in the BIOS and then move windows onto my SSD? I'm not sure how that would work.

Why would you want windows on an external drive? For one, you can't move Windows from one drive to another once it has been installed. You choose the destination drive for install and then that's it. Get at least a 240gb ssd, install windows on it. You will love how fast and responsive it is. You can then add another ssd or hdd when you need more space for games.

Love not hate
