Thinking purely on driver support and power usage I would go with the GTX 1060.

there are literally no reasons to choose 780Ti over the 1060 6GB. But I'd still get the RX 480 cause it's better at 1440p.

Morgan, in some games such as mafia 3 i noticed that the 1060 perf on par with a 780ti but 780ti is a little cheaper

Please remember to quote people. Also, the 1060 will be supported longer in terms of drivers, it runs cooler and uses less power.

Personally I'm going with the RX 480. I never used GameStream at all. I played Half Life 2 like once on my NVIDIA Shield Tablet, I know you can play it natively but I gave it a go anyway.

None of them for 1440p

At least if you wanna play Ultra (is way better to play Ultra 720p than Low 1440p)

If you wanna play 1440p 60fps Ultra, then buy a 1070, if you can't afford one then buy a 1060 but don't expect to play 1440p 60fps Ultra (the last games and many old ones)

Soz i didnt make this clear earlier i wouldn't mind playing at high or medium to keep a stable 60frames

You need more VRAM for 1440p than 3GB, it's barely enough for 1080p, let alone a higher resolutions. AMD cards tend to do better in higher resolutions and the RX 480 8GB outperforms GTX 1060 there.

Go with AMD... they need the money.. xD and the RX480 is far more future-proof then the 1060.

Future proofing doesn't exist. By the time DX12 and Vulkan become widely accepted, the 480 and 1060 will be outdated.

Isn't 780ti 3gb? I think that you will not have a good time with that amount of memory on 1440p. And 30 pounds difference? For way less heat,  watts and better performance? There is no contest here IMHO. Got for 1060 6gb if rx 480 is not an option.

Its gonna depends on the game, the settings have to be high for vram usage and old cards cant do that anyway unless you prefer low framerates. Cant be sure on how it would play but the optimized games I play barely hit 3 gigs. That's just the bf series though.  As I played 5760x1080 on bf hardline on the high preset and easily kept 60 frames. But that was a titan black, so the only difference to a 780ti would be vram but it isn't over 3 gigs of usage anyway. But they are power hungry. After seeing what a 1050ti can do I could be happy with a 1060.
