I've decided to go with the GTX 1070 although I haven't decided which varient to go with yet. Definitely want to "splash out" a bit on the GPU so I've given that a budget of around £400

if your going for a 1070, then you're definitely looking at an i7. which variant is up to you

Hey guys.

So I'm looking for a good processor for gaming/4K video editing and photoshop. I also use after effects for some 3D and effects work.

Intel i7 6700k looks promising with many reviews on overclocking getting anywhere between 4.5-4.9 GHz. Was also considering an i5 6600k but a lot of people seemed to recommend an i7 for 4K editing. Just wondering what people's thoughts are and if anyone has other recommendations?

I already have GPU and other components in mind so that's not an issue. Thinking of a mini itx motherboard as I quite like the look of the corsair carbide air 240 case, but might change to a 540 if i think it will be too much of a squeeze.

Cheers!

PS don't really want to spend more than £300

With your budget a 6700k would be best

i would choose the i7 6700K. but choose whatever your budget allows. What GPU do you have?

Yeah I think I'll go with the 6700k. Reviews are good and there's quite a lot of OC guides for it with nice results

Mark the post that helped solved so passers-by know you don't need help anymore
