so I recently built a computer, everything works and I have windows loaded up onto it, the only problem, is I have no way to connect to the Internet. the router is in another room, and I don't want to have an Ethernet cable going through the roof or something. Is there anyway i can connect to another router for my room and have my computer plugged into that and all be on the same network? or should I get a power line?

Two options.

1) WiFi on the PC

2) PowerLine Ethernet adapters, and then cable both ends.

Hard cabled ethernet will always be the 'best' option ... but you seem to have eliminated that.

Another router will have the same connectivity requirements as the PC, unless you buy one with Mobile Broadband (phone network) access.

Should be OK, but will add a bit to your ping ...

in my case (example) i get

13 ms ping with cable,

17 ms ping with WiFi

21 ms ping with EoP

but of course your mileage may vary.

the other (potential) issue with EoP is the quality of power lines (old houses can have issues) and the strong preference to get both source and target on the same circuit (same in wall power cable).   They degrade quick if you need to use multiple power circuits.

I've gamed for years with EoP and never really noticed - but moved back to real ethernet cable at first opportunity.

ALSO: dont believe the claimed speed of Ethernet over Power adapters... they are way slower than they claim, so get the fastest you can afford - (and check reviews).
