Would this work?

Candysandwich99

I have one 1080p 60hz monitor and 1 1440p 144 hz monitor. I have a laptop that I use with the 1080p monitor and my desktop that I use on the 1440p one. I found this switch (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EO1GMNU/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481063932&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=hdmi+splitter+with+switch&dpPl=1&dpID=41qG5MBVGfL&ref=plSrch)  I was wondering if I could use this to switch between using my laptop on the 1080p and my desktop on the 1440p  display, to using my desktop on both of the displays.

How many HDMI ports are on your PC?

Why not just do an extended desktop or something like that.

Am I just dumb and missing something?
